Unique Cotton Rich Fillings - a good choice if you want a softer, more 'springy' feel to your futon, combined with a high content of cotton.

Standard Fillings - choose the standard filling combination for a traditional 'firm but supportive' feel to your futon.

Standard Fillings

A standard high quality filling. This contains a cotton top and bottom layer, special futon felt layers which contain cotton and wool (wools adds natural spring to the mixture) and a layer of rebound polyester providing comfort and shape to your futon mattress. Provided as a standard 6-layer on all 'tri-fold' style futons including the Auckland, Eco and hardwood 2 seaters, and with an extra layer of felt and rebound polyester on bi-fold (or 'bench-style') models for extra durability, creating our unique twin-loft futon.

Unique Cotton Rich Fillings

The Futon Shop have introduced a new white cotton-rich filling. Due to requests from our customers for a pure cotton futon, we have researched various types of fillings. Although cotton was used in the traditional futon in the past and is a superb product, it has a tendency to matt down and produce lumps. We have therefore researched and developed a pure cotton filling mixed with a small amount of polyester / woolfelt. This product has all the advantages of cotton, but the polyester reduces the matting process.

We hope you will be pleased with the end result. We are now able to offer cotton-rich layers throughout the futon, giving you all the advantages of cotton without the matting down. This product uses mainly pure cotton and is therefore more expensive than a cotton-woolfelt mix, but we hope you'll agree its well worth it!.

Like the standard futon mattress the Unique mattress can be provided as a standard 6-layer on all 'tri-fold' style futons including the Auckland, Eco and hardwood 2 seaters, and with an extra layer of rebound Polyester and cotton-rich felt on bi-fold (or 'bench-style') models for extra durability, creating our Unique twin-loft futon.
