Terms and Conditions of Trade

The following are our terms and conditions of trade. We have made every effort to make them as simple and clear as possible. We hope you receive many years of service from your purchase, and would welcome your comments, or questions. Placing an Order

You may place your order by using our on-line shopping facility, telephoning us on (01752) 66 20 30, in person at our premesis,or by writing to: The Futon Shop Ltd, Unit 13 HQ Building, 237 Union Street, Plymouth, PL1 3HQ.

Payment of your order can be by Credit or Debit card or PayPal, either on-line, by telephone or in person at our premesis. You can also pay, in person, by cheque (with an appropriate guarantee card) or cash at our premesis, or by cheque sent in the post. Please do not send cash in the post. Cheques should be made payable to: The Futon Shop Ltd. All goods must be fully paid for at the time of order.

You will receive confirmation of your order shortly after placing your order. We may also contact you, by telephone or e-mail, to clarify your requirements and arrange delivery.

Delivery of your order will take approximately 5 to 7 days for stock items or up to 14 days for special orders, from the date of receipt of your order, unless otherwise specified on the product page on our website. We will always contact you to arrange a mutually convenient delivery day prior to dispatch, we can also arrange rapid delivery of stock items if required, please call for details.

All goods remain the property of The Futon Shop Ltd until paid for in full.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have adequate access to allow your purchase to fit into the room and position of your choice. Please ensure you have made any necessary measurements and contact us if you need advice or further product dimensions.

Cancelling an Order

You may cancel your order at any time, until 14 working days after delivery has taken place.

If you cancel after delivery has taken place you will be charged a return delivery contribution as follows:

  • Order value to £400 - return contribution is £25.00
  • Order value £401 to £999 - return contribution is £40.00
  • Order value over £1000 - return contribution is £55.00

These contributions go towards costs incurred in collection and return of your order and will be deducted from your refund.

Any items manufactured to a customers specific requirements, such as non-standard size futon mattresses or non-standard colour schemes cannot be accepted as a return. Items in this category can only be returned if the product has a manufacturing fault, or has incurred transit damage. Please also note that business to business transactions are non-returnable under any circumstances.

Mattresses can only be returned if they are unused, you may carry out a 'showroom' test, unpack your mattress, lay it on your bed and feel the comfort level but unfortunately mattresses that have been slept on cannot be returned.

The Futon Shop Ltd will arrange for collection of the goods from the delivery address.

The goods must be returned in as new condition, and in their original packaging. Mattresses and futon mattresses must not be used and should be in their original packaging bags, assembled or semi-assembled items cannot be returned. 

Returned items from non-UK destinations, such as Ireland and other areas of Europe, will need to be sent back to us at the customers own expense and risk and in the original packaging. Please contact us if you wish to discuss any details,

All verbal cancellations must be confirmed in writing to: The Futon Shop, Unit 13 HQ Building, 237 Union Street, Plymouth, Devon, PL1 3HQ or by e-mail to sales@futons247.co.uk.

Damaged Goods

If your goods arrive damaged (you should indicate as such on the carriers paperwork if the damage is obvious) we will replace them free of charge. If we are unable to replace them we will refund you in full, providing any such damage is notified to us within 7 working days of delivery of the goods, in writing.

If you would prefer a full refund to replacement goods, we will gladly refund you, providing you have informed us within 7 working days of receipt of the goods, in writing.

We will replace complete items up to 3 months after delivery if they have a manufacturing fault, after this date we will replace parts only, up to 1 year from delivery of the goods.

We do not offer free replacement, or parts, after 1 year from delivery.

No collection charges will be made to you for collection of faulty goods or parts.

Privacy and Security

We take all security issues very seriously and accordingly use a high level of security in our payment section.

Your personal details will only ever be used for the purposes of processing your order. Your details will never be passed to a third party.
